When two American expats meet by chance in a dusty Mexican bar, a historic map and the promise of lost treasure draw them into an unlikely partnership. Together, they set off down the Baja peninsula in search of a fortune believed to be hidden beneath an abandoned coastal mission.

But they aren’t the only ones looking. A ruthless smuggler wants the map, and a determined federal agent intends to ensure that no treasure leaves Mexico. Pursued by gunmen, tangled up with local police, and ambushed by a motorcycle gang, the Americans race through stark desert landscapes, crowded fishing villages, and the twisting roads above Baja’s wild coastline. Each narrow escape tests their resolve—and their growing friendship.

When a desert chase leaves their truck wrecked and one man wounded, they seek shelter at an isolated coastal farm. There, a widowed father and his fiercely independent daughter take them in, offering refuge while demanding the truth about the trouble following them.

As one man recovers under the father’s care, the other finds himself drawn to the daughter. Their spirited clashes soften into unexpected romance, giving him a glimpse of a life he might finally want to stay for. Through shared meals, honest conversations, and the father’s quiet faith, both Americans begin to confront the losses and disappointments they have spent years outrunning.

But their pursuers are closing in. When danger reaches the farm, the men must choose between escaping with the map and protecting the people who sheltered them. Their decision sends them on a final, desperate chase toward the abandoned mission—where the promise of buried riches collides with newfound love, a tested friendship, and the possibility of faith restored.

Baja is envisioned as a live-action adventure filmed at Texas coastal and desert locations, enhanced through AI-assisted visual effects to recreate Mexico’s Baja peninsula. The preliminary production target is $1.5 million for an independent feature or $4.5 million for a six-episode limited series, subject to script breakdown, casting, stunt requirements, and validation of the AI production workflow.
